Schenectady- Gary S. Beadnell, 74, passed away suddenly on Thursday, December 14, 2023. Born in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Daisy and William Beadnell.
Gary grew up in Rotterdam and graduated from Draper High School. He then went on to graduate from Oneonta State with a degree in Education. Gary's early career began as a Middle-School teacher in the Guilderland School District. After obtaining a Masters Degree in Educational Administration from the College of St. Rose he went on to become an elementary school principal and worked in the Schalmont and Mohonasen School Districts before ending his career as an administrator in the Albany City School District. Gary was extremely passionate about his profession and took great pride in the development of thousands of students over the years. Gary was also instrumental in mentoring teachers and fellow administrators during his prominent time in the education field.
Gary's enthusiasm for watching his two sons play sports growing up most recently transitioned to his 4 grandchildren where he spent countless hours attending their games and events. Gary was also an accomplished musician whose skills on the guitar and microphone allowed him the opportunity to participate in several different bands over the years. Gary was an active member in his church as well as a dedicated volunteer at the City Mission.
Gary is survived by his two sons Michael Beadnell (Sasha) and Timothy Beadnell (Jaclyn) as well as his loving partner Sharon Fisher and his 4 adoring grandchildren Peyton, Jackson, Danica and Luke Beadnell.
He is predeceased by his parents William and Daisy Beadnell and his brother William Beadnell Jr.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children Hospital
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 from 4pm-6pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY 12205. A memorial service will follow at 6pm
