Gary Crocco

Gary Crocco 67, of Schenectady, NY, formerly of Suffern, NY died on Oct 13, 2024 at home. 

Gary was born on Nov. 6, 1956 to Robert and Norma Crocco. 

He grew up in Suffern NY, attended Suffern High School, and later graduated from the Culinary Institute of America and Florida International University. He had a career in hospitality as a chef and maitre’d, and later worked at the Guilderland YMCA. He was an avid fitness practitioner and loved to walk and hike, especially at John Boyd Thatcher State Park in Albany, NY.

 Gary is survived by his mother, Norma Combs of Schenectady, NY; his wife, Sheila; his son, Michael Crocco of Jacksonville, FL; and his sisters and brothers and their spouses: Vicki and Chris Antonucci of Mechanicville, NY; Dayla and Gerry Buttner of Peoria, AZ; Steven and Michelle Combs of Schenectady, NY; Kathy and Bill Lediger of Day, NY; Ruth and Dave Thorne of Tucson, AZ; Rita and Alan Ruch of Tucson, AZ; and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his father Robert Crocco, his twin brother David Crocco, and his sister Janet Karras. 

Burial will take place at Maryrest Cemetery in Darlington, NJ. The family requests that donations be made in his memory to the National Kidney Foundation: support.kidney.org
