Gary L. Whittmore , 82, passed away peacefully at home on the morning of Wednesday, January 27, 2021 with his loving family by his side.
Gary was the son of the late Wilbur and Marian Whittmore.
He was a proud member of the International Union of Operating Engineers for 60 years running heavy equipment until several years ago.
Gary liked to camp, hunt and fish as well as watch NASCAR in his free time.
Gary is survived by his loving wife of 44 years Ann (Comenzo) Whittmore, his three children Gary Jr., Wendy and Scott Whittmore, his two step children Shelley and Peggie DeGuerre. His is also survived by seven grandchildren, Sarah Jenks, David Coon, Richard Whittmore, Kristen Rios, Jerrianne Brandley, Willa and Ben Whittmore, six great grandchildren, special in-laws Carol (Russ) Collura and Susan A. Comenzo, nephew Richard Collura and great nephews Michael and Christian Collura as well as two best friends Duncan Crawford and Bob Smith.
The family would like to thank the Community Hospice workers for all of their care and compassion given to Gary and his family.
A private celebration of Gary's life will be celebrated at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Community Hospice Foundation 445 New Karner Rd., Colonie, NY 12205.
