Gaspon Hooks

Albany- On November 29, 2023, Gaspon Lee Hooks, known by many as Gaston or "Gas", passed away at age 64. He was born on July 5, 1959 at Memorial Hospital, in Albany, NY.

Gas worked for many years at SUNY Albany as a Kosher Chef and served many more years at the Ramada where he later retired. He enjoyed being around family and friends and worked hard to care for those around him. He gave generously and rarely did he ask for anything in return. You could always find him sitting outside the front of the house, listening to reggae music, reminiscing about the past times.

Gaston is survived by the love of his life, Christine Williams; daughters: Jamilah (Reggie) Hooks-McGrue Las Vegas, Nevada, Melissa Lee, Raeshauna Mitchell, Nia Williams, Winnie Williams, and Kenya Williams; son Kenyatta Williams; grandsons: Deimoni Brewington Washington, DC, Anias Brewington Las Vegas, Nevada, Naveion Mitchell, and Xaliahn Austin; granddaughters: Jalyssa Jackson, Indya Keith, and Xaliahn Austin; niece Anika Mendoza, and a host of friends and family.
