Gearon J. Kimball

Niskayuna - Gearon Joseph Kimball (Gary), 80, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, December 6, 2023. Born in Albany on February 22,1943, he was the son of the late Dorothea Wilmot and Gearon Kimball, Esq.

Gary graduated Rye Neck High School in Mamaroneck, NY in 1960, NYU in 1964 and Albany Law School in 1970. He was an elected member of the Justinan Society and was the Editor of the Albany Law Review from 1969-1970. He started his career practicing law in Troy, NY and continued at the Legislative Index at the State Capitol in Albany. He enjoyed long hikes in the Adirondacks and Connecticut. He loved working on his garden with his companion and "lady friend", Chris Hotaling. He had an incredible passion for biking and was always proud of staying physically fit. His athleticism could be seen in everything he did including skiing, golf and archery.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Maureen Kimball. Gary spent countless hours by her side through her long illness with Alzheimer's. Gary will forever be missed by his daughters, Karim Becker (Robert Droege), Jill Gromko (Derek), grandchildren, Braxton, Bryn and Quinn Becker, Reagan and Taylor Gromko, his brother Gregory Kimball, his niece Marcia Page, his cousins Herbert Dodd Clark, Douglas Clark and many dear friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 13th at 11:00 at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd, Colonie, NY. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, 385 Watervliet Shaker Road, Latham, NY 12110 or the Alzheimer's Association, 1003 New Loudon Rd, Cohoes, NY 12047

Services will be Saturday, January 13, 2023 at 11am at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie, 12205. A reception will follow the memorial service at an outside venue.
