Schenectady- Geneva Helen Blay, 95, passed away peacefully at her home on January 13, 2016. The daughter of the late Marshall and Lota (Carbee) Pond, Geneva was born on February 27, 1920 in Lunenburg, VT.
Geneva spent her lifetime caring for her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
She is survived by her daughter Loretta (Linus) Howard and her son Jeff Blay; her brother John "Sonny" (Flora Mae) Pond; her 8 grandchildren: her 9 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Geneva was predeceased by her husband Melvin Blay, Sr.; her son Melvin Blay, Jr.; her sisters: Joyce, Margaret and Nila.
Visitation will be held from 6-8pm on Wednesday, January 20 at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Burial will be private.
