ALBANY – Genevieve Cameron, 85, of Albany, passed away peacefully on Monday November 15, 2010 at the Inn of Community Hospice at St. Peter's Hospital.
She was born in Albany and was the daughter of the late Michael and Anna Zirk. Mrs. Cameron was a crossing guard at Clinton and North Lake Ave in the City of Albany for 18 years. She was a former member of the Polish American Citizens Club.
Genevieve was predeceased by her husband Kenneth and her sons John and Kenneth Jr. She is the beloved mother of Diane (Paul) Kniffen and Robert (Nancy) Cameron. She is the sister of Anna Mae Benson. Several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.
The family would like to thank St. Peter's Homecare Nursing and Accucare for their excellent service and care during our difficult time.
Funeral services will be Friday afternoon at 1:00 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie. Calling hours will precede the service on Friday from 11 am to 1 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memory Gardens. Memorial contributions in Genevieve's name may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
