Colonie- Genevieve E. Murphy, 74, passed away, surrounded by family, on Monday, March 10, 2025. Born in Philadelphia, PA l. She was the daughter of the late Genevieve A. and Earl Staub. Genevieve is predeceased by her husband Francis Murphy.
Genevieve enjoyed her work helping people as an RN until she retired. She worked for several doctors offices in the Albany area. As well as at Albany Med. After she retired she still enjoyed helping people and helping her daughter in their pet sitting business. She loved her afternoon and weekend walks with Jackson and Charlie. Genevieve enjoyed her work at Christ our Light Church as an ambassador and volunteering in the food pantry. In her free time Genevieve enjoyed gardening and walking her dog Frankie in the park. Genevieves favorite thing to do was spending time with her family and playing with her grandchildren. Darren, Ciara and Liam. Ciara and Liam enjoyed spending time playing with their dinosaurs , playing board games and cards with their Nanny. Darren enjoyed spending time with his Nanny, playing games and showing her his collectibles and walking the dog.
Genevieve is survived by her Daughter Genevieve M. Murphy (Robert Chang) and their children who they called “Nanny”, Ciara Chang and Liam Chang as well her son, Earl F. Murphy (April) and grandson, Darren Murphy. She will also be missed by her two brothers Ed and Jim Staub, her sister Linda Staub and also several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 from 930am-11am at Christ our Light Catholic Church, 1 Maria Dr, Albany, NY 12211. A mass of Christian burial will begin at 11am with interment following at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
