Slingerlands - George L. Adams, 92, formerly of Troy, had been residing at Village Green Beverwyck, went to be with the Lord on December 21, 2020.
George was born on July 19, 1928, the son of the late John and Nora Adams.
George was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps serving his country in the Asian Theater during WWII and stationed stateside during the Korean Conflict. He was employed as an FDIC Bank Auditor and Assistant VP of Home Savings Bank and CFO of the Professional Skiing Association.
He was an avid Yankee's fan, a lifelong reader who frequented public libraries, and followed professional figure skating. After retirement he enjoyed traveling with his wife and cherished the time he spent with his family. He will be dearly missed.
George was predeceased by his loving wife of 61 years, Elsie Adams and daughter, Jean Marie Bishop.
He is survived by his children, Susan Bohley of Plattsburgh, Bruce Adams of Albany, Carol (Stephen) Mahar of Colonie, Roxanne (Joseph) Koczaja of Voorheesville, Patricia (Larry) Hart of North Greenbush, and Laurie Adams of Southport, North Carolina; sister, Annette Kirch and six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at 10:00am at St. Pius X Catholic Church 23 Crumitie Rd, Loudonville, NY 12211. Interment will follow at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
Gathering size will be based on the most current NYS occupancy requirements.
Masks are required, and social distancing is to be observed.
