George B. Collins, Jr.

COLONIE- George B. Collins, Jr., 87, of Colonie, NY passed away on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at Barnwell Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Brooklyn, NY the son of the late George and Hazel Rose Collins. Mr. Collins was a veteran of WWII, having served in the US Army. He worked for the Grand Union, Albany Public Supermarkets and retired from A. J. Ferolie in Hackensack, NJ. He was an avid golfer and a big NY Yankees fan.
Mr. Collins is survived by his daughter Allison Labate Mosier (Scott); his sister Barbara Roberts (Edwin) and by his nieces Beth, Leslie, Amy and Jackie.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Collins was predeceased by his wife Helen J. (Wilson) Collins and by two close friends Will and Charlie.
Calling hours will be held from 3 to 5 PM on Sunday, May 4, 2014 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie.
A graveside service will be held at 12:00 pm on Monday, May 5, 2014 at Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd. Schuylerville, NY.
Contributions may be made to the Veteran's Administration in memory of Mr. Collins.
