George Bell

George Bell, 82, passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2011 at Albany Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Albany to the late Charles and Margaret Bell. George proudly served in the United States Army. He graduated from Siena College where he earned his Bachelors degree in Economics. He worked for many years with Nationwide Insurance Company until his retirement in 1991. George was an avid sports fan, he loved the NY Giants, and he was a true craftsman, he enjoyed reading but mostly enjoyed spending time with his family. He always put his family first.
George is survived by his loving wife of over 57 years, Marjorie (Purcell) Bell; his cherished children; Karen (Robert) Jocham, Charles (Carmela) Bell, Timothy (Linda) Bell and Daniel Bell. He is also survived by his adored grandchildren; Christen, Jessica, Kyle, Sean, Ryan, Noah and Sage.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 9:30 am at Christ Our Light Church, 1 Maria Dr., Loudonville. Calling hours will be Friday from 4 to 7 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. Interment will follow the Mass at St. Agnes Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association, Inc. Parkinson Plaza, 135 Parkinson Ave. Staten Island, NY 10305 in George's memory.
