George Wallace Brewer

George Wallace Brewer, known to most as Wally, passed away on Monday, October 5, 2020. Wally was born on November 5, 1930 in Troy, NY to the late Wallace and Mildred Brewer. He grew up in the Troy area and married Vivian Wyman in 1958. Wally worked as a lab tech at General Electric for many years. He also served his country for four years in the United States Air Force. Some of Wally's fondest memories of his military days involve playing basketball on the base. Many will know Wally's more recent favorite sport was golf. He loved living just off the course at Frear Park and would frequently venture out on it to walk his four-legged best friend, Ziggy.

George was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and sisters Muriel Burke and Shirley Ladd. He is survived by his children: Wendy of Huntington Beach, California, Lisa (Willy) of Ocala, Florida and Todd (Joyce) of Hoosick Falls, NY, as well as granddaughters Samantha (Evan) of Cambridge, NY and Anna of Hoosick Falls. A sincere thank you to all of those who provided Wally care and kindness over his last weeks. Per his wishes, there will be no services.
