George D. Deyo, Sr. passed away surrounded by his family on July 3, 2015 at Ellis Hospital. He was 83 years old.
George was born April 19, 1932 to Clifton and Elizabeth Deyo. George served in the U.S. Navy from 1951 to 1953, earning the Navy Occupation Service Medal with Europe Clasp. He worked for many years in the plumbing and heating industry and retired in 1996.
George was a 59 year member of the Fuller Road Fire Department and a proud member off the Fuller Road Funsters.
He was the devoted husband of Sally Elligott Deyo for the past 61 years; he was the father of George Deyo Jr. (Carole), Timothy Deyo ( Jeanine ) and Shaun Deyo ( Patricia ) all of Colonie; George was the greatest Papa to Kristina, Carson, Alex, Katie, Lizzy and Skylar Deyo; he is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his sister Charlotte Watson and his brothers John and Edward Deyo.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 pm on Wednesday, July 8 at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A funeral service will be held at 10 am on Thursday, July 9 at the funeral home, burial will follow at Our Lady of Angels cemetery in Colonie.
