George E. DeWitt, Sr.

Albany- George E. DeWitt Sr., age 91, from Delhi, NY, passed away on Wednesday, March 26, at his home in Albany, NY. He was born July 15, 1933, in Delhi, NY.

He married Constance L. Reynolds in 1957 and they had three children, the first born (Jamie) who preceded him. Additionally, he retired from New York State Department of Corrections.

He was a dedicated and faithful member of the Masonic Fraternity for over 50 years and Served as Past Master, Capital City #78, Sovereign Grand Inspector General, Consistory Utica #45, Past Excellent High Priest, Holy Royal Arch Masons Zerubbabel #8, and Past Potentate, Al Tabari Temple #121.

He is survived by Son, George E. Jr. (Nancy) DeWitt, daughter Consuela D. DeWitt, three Grandsons, Fred J. Levy, P. Anthony Levy and George E. DeWitt III, and one granddaughter, Princess Niccole Levy and nine great-grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Rd., Watervliet, New York on Sunday April 6, 2025 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm with a funeral service to begin at 3:00 pm. Burial will take place at 1:00 pm on Monday, March 7, 2025 at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
