ALBANY-George E. Pincher, 74, passed away at his home on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 with his loving wife by his side.
George was born in Troy, NY on July 16, 1941 to the late George and Mary Pincher. After high school George served his country honorably in the United States Army. After his military service George went to work for the Albany Stratton VA Medical Center. He retired from the VA in 1995 with over 30 years of service. In 1970 George met the love of his life, Edna. They were married for 44 years. George was very active in the VFW and the American Legion of Albany. George's passion in life was his family and he cherished his time babysitting his grandsons.
George is survived by his loving wife, Edna, his sons; Scott (Katie) Pincher, Stephen Pincher, Jack (Lainey) McConkey, Kevin (Tracy) McConkey, Brian (Carol) McConkey, Timothy McConkey, Thomas (Robin) McConkey, his 13 grandchildren, his five great-grandchildren, and his brother, Ronald Pincher.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205, on Monday, June 6, 2016 from 11:30-12:30 with a service to immediately follow. Burial will be held at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Colonie, NY.
George's family would like to thank everyone at Community Hospice for all of their love and compassion shown over the last several months.
