George H. Lacosse, 81, passed away peacefully after a long illness, on Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at Kingston Hospital surrounded by his loving family. George was born in Green Island to the late Zephier and Gisele "Gay"(Hebert) Lacosse. George proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. during WWII and was stationed in China during his tour. He was employed by Taft furniture for over 45 years as a customer service manager and continued with them after retirement. In addition to his parents George was predeceased by his son George Jr..
George is survived by his loving wife of over 38 years, Jane L. (Way) Lacosse. He is the beloved father of; Carol (John) Radyke, Denise (Dave) Bulich, Doreen (Paul) Welch, Jean (Rich) Stebbins, Christopher (Sara) Lacosse, Danielle (Dave) Gulbrandsen and Andrew Lacosse. He is the cherished grandfather of 16 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He is the brother of Jeanie (John) Whalen, Jr., James Bashford and Jeffrey Bashford. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and close friends.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11 am at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (rt. 155 south of Central Ave). Calling hours will be Monday from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at the Gerald B.H. Solomon National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
Memorial contributions may be made to, The Memorial and Honor Program, St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105-1942 in George's honor.
