Deacon George H. Nahm
Colonie- George H. Nahm passed away July 3rd 2015 at home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Philadelphia, PA on June 13, 1925, the son of the late George and Mary Nahm. He was a graduate of St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia with a B.A. in Economics in 1952.
George returned home to finish his college career after surviving WWII in the Air Force over the European Theatre. For several years he worked for Good Year Tire Co and Goodrich Tire Co. He retired from the N.Y.S. Department of Taxation.
In 1982 he was ordained to the Deaconate by Bishop Howard Hubbard and was assigned to St. Clare's Church in Colonie where he spent 30 years in Pastoral Care.
He is survived by his wife Anne. They were blessed with 66 years of wonderful marriage. Together they had four sons: George (Lou Ann), Edwin (Linda), Gregory (Eulie) and James (Kathy), six grandchildren and three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He is survived by his sister Patricia Cope.
Calling hours will be held Sunday, July 5th from 3:00PM- 7:00PM at St. Clare's Church, 1947 Central Ave, Albany,NY 12205. A mass of Christian burial will be held Monday, July 6th at 10:00am at St. Clare's Church. Interment will be held at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in George's name to St. Clare's Church, 1947 Central Ave, Albany, NY 12205.
