COLONIE - George H. Shriver, 84, of Colonie, died Tuesday, April 2, 2008 at Community Hospice at Albany Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Jamaica, NY and has been a Colonie resident for many years. George worked for AT & T for many years, retiring in 1975 where he was a member of the Pioneers and was a member of the Colonie Elks #2192.
George is survived by his step-son Michael F. (Kathleen) VerSnyder, his step-granddaughter, Donna Capute and his step-great-grandson, Michael Capute, all of Bridgehampton, Long Island. He was predeceased by his wife, Margaret M. Shriver.
A graveside committal service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Memory's Garden in Colonie. Calling hours will be held at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.) on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m.
