George Holt

COLONIE – George D. Holt, Sr., 70, of Colonie, passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2006 at St. Peter's Hospital. Born in New London, CT, he lived in Albany for 50 years before moving to Colonie. George was the owner and operator of G & N Auto Repair on Broad Street in the south end of Albany for 30 years, until retiring. He then worked for Firlik Express and Northway Auto Exchange. Mr. Holt loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. George is the beloved husband of 37 years to Nellie Holt. He is the devoted father of Theresa Marie Kelly of Gaston, SC, Joanne Kinner, Patricia Crawford and Mary Beth Pitts, all of Albany and George D. Holt, Jr. of Colonie. He is the brother of Richard Waibel, Pat Livingstone, Barbara Silva, Irene Bast and the late James Holt. Also survived by 17 cherished grandchildren, 11 loving great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Monday evening at 6:00 p.m. at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will precede the service from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Expressions of sympathy may be made to newcomerfamily.com
