George J. Maney, Sr.

Colonie- George John Maney, Sr., 74, was called to God's service on Thursday, August 4, 2005. Born and raised in Albany, George worked for the Franciscan Chapel for many years. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving his country during the Korean War. George was also an avid baseball fan. "Go Yankees!"
George is survived by his beloved wife Alice (Brennan) Maney. In June George and Alice celebrated their 50th Anniversary. He also leaves behind to cherish his memory his six children, Thomas (Beth) Maney, Kathleen (Bob) Womer, Timothy Maney, Christopher (Kathryn) Maney, George Maney and Shawn Maney; 10 grandchildren, and one great-grandson.
A graveside service will be held on Monday at 11:00 AM at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Rensselaer. All are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Community Hospice of Albany County, 445 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205 in memory of George J. Maney, Sr.
