George E. Klopfer

March 13, 1954 — May 15, 2024

Voorheesville - George Edward Klopfer, 70, passed away on May 15, 2024.
George was born in Albany, NY. He was the son of Doreen Moak, and was predeceased by his fathers, George E. Klopfer and H. Allyn Moak.

George was a hardworking person who retired from the Town of New Scotland. It was there that he developed many long lasting and loyal friendships.
George was an avid sports fan. You could find him all around the Capital District watching and supporting his great nieces, great nephews, grandchildren, as well as the Voorheesville High School sports teams. A huge Tom Petty fan, some of his fondest memories were times spent at concerts and singing and dancing to his favorite songs with family.

George enjoyed watching the stock car races at Fonda Speedway. He was a nature lover, spending much of his free time hunting and walking in the woods. He enjoyed the freedom that his tricycle gave him and was well known throughout the village.

He was a humble, kind hearted man who bore a long and difficult disease with strength and dignity. We would like to thank the community for the outpouring of love and support throughout the years. He was proud to call Voorheesville home.

He was a devoted father to his daughter Blair (William) Murray, and son Gregory Klopfer. However, nothing was more important to George than his grandson Bryce Bialkowski and granddaughter Brenna Murray.

George is survived by his siblings Debra Langford, Wendy Berger, (Roger) Edward Klopfer, (Nancy) and Derek Moak (Jen). He is also survived by several sisters in law and brothers in law and many cherished nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife and high school sweetheart, Esther R. (Lawyer) Klopfer, and his treasured nephew Joey Langford.
