Scotia, NY – George L. Parent, Jr. passed away Thursday April 29, 2010 at his home in Scotia.
He was born in New York, NY the son of George L. Parent, Sr. and the late Bernice Marie (McDonald) Parent. Shortly after his birth the family moved to the capital area where George has called home since. He was the owner/operator of Economy Siding for 32 years, retiring in 2002. George loved all things outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and camping and was a long time member of Elks and the Quan Ho Ha Rod and Gun Club. George was larger than life with a heart as big as he was. He was a fun loving, gregarious man who was always the life of the party.
In addition to his father, George is survived his beloved wife Judy Ann Parent, step-daughter Lisa (Wendy Pace) McMurphy children Suzan and Chris, sister Carol Piper, nephew Arnold (Cynthia) Peek, nieces: Kathleen (Richard) Boilard, Michele (Mario) Palleschi, Christine (Bonnie Heeden) Peek and Maria (Bob ?) Piper and ex-wife and friend Loretta Parent.
The funeral service will be Tuesday 7:00pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. Calling hours will precede the service Tuesday form 4:00 to 7:00pm at the funeral home.
