Waterford- George E. VanVranken, Jr., 73, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 16, 2024 at his home with his loving family by his side. He was the son of the late George, Sr. and Jane VanVranken. George was the devoted husband to Mary VanVranken. They were married 51 years.
George worked as a Truck Driver in Albany, New York until his retirement.
George was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed taking pictures of wildlife. He enjoyed spending his time in the mountains of New Hampshire. Most of all, George cherished the time he spent with his great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, George is survived by his daughters, Heather VanVranken and Stacy (Scott O'Connell) VanVranken; grandchildren, Brandon (Laura Vargonen) VanVranken and Cassidy (Jeremy Haseltine) VanVranken; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Jessie, Adriana, Ayla, Gabriel, and Benjamin; his siblings, Jane Somers, Silvia (James) Milburn, Beth Fazzone, and Kirk VanVranken; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to his parents, George is predeceased by his siblings, Edward VanVranken, Robert VanVranken, Linda Balentine, and Doris Corbett.
Visitation will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Rd., Watervliet, on Friday, February 23, 2024 from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm. A Memorial Service will be held at the funeral home at 1:30 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in George's name to American Cancer Society at https://donate.cancer.org/ or Alzheimer's Association at https://act.alz.org/site/Donation
