George W. Hayner

GLENMONT – George W. Hayner, 95, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 17, 2008. Born in Schaghticoke, he was the son of the late William and Carrie Hayner. George was a driver for the Freihofer Company for many years before his retirement. He was an avid sportsman, enjoying hunting and fishing. George is the beloved husband of Hazel Hayner and the late Erma Hayner. He is the step-father of Shirley (Harold) Matott, Egeria Wood and Douglas Snyder. Also surviving is his brother, Clifford (Betty) Hayner and his niece, Erma Yerder.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will be Monday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in the spring in Elmwood Cemetery, Schaghticoke. Memorial contributions may be made to Pineview Community Church, 251 Washington Avenue Ext., Albany, NY 12205 in memory of George W. Hayner.
