George W. Wood Jr.

Albany- George W. Wood Jr, 81, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 27, 2016, surrounded by his loving family.
George proudly served in the United States Marines during the Korean Conflict and later in the Air Force Reserves attaining the rank of Staff Sargent.
He is survived by his wife Diane Wood (Capullo) and seven children including Steven Wood his wife Laurie, Michael Mann, Mark Mann his wife Tina and Melissa Wiese her husband Walter. George is also survived by several grandchildren including Taylor Mann, Zachary Mann, Olivia Wiese, Lilliana Wiese & Steven Ryan Wood and one great grandchild and he is also survived by his sisters Pam Steele, Andrea Hamilton, Linda Hamilton and Peter Hunter.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in the memory of George to the Albany Medical Center Foundation, PO Box 8928, Albany, New York 12208.
A calling hour will be held Monday, February 8, 2016 from 11:00am-12:00pm at New Comer Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow starting at 12:00pm.
