George Wolff

GUILDERLAND – George D. Wolff, 84, of Guilderland, passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2006, at Teresian House. Born in Schenectady, he was the son of the late Carl J. and Salome West Wolff. Mr. Wolff was a resident of the Schenectady area for all of his life. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving his country during World War II. George worked for General Electric Company, retiring in 1984 after 43 years of service. Mr. Wolff was a life member of the Whitney Club and a longtime member of State Street Presbyterian Church, where he served as trustee for many years. He enjoyed bowling, woodworking and photography. George is the beloved husband of 56 years to Marion E. Denny Wolff. He is the devoted father of Kristine (John) Wolff Wells of Chesterfield, VA, Linda (Christian) Manss of Altamont, Elise (Dennis) Magilton of Guilderland, Douglas (Lisa) Wolff of New Windsor, MD and Sharon (Donald) Dadmun of South Portland, ME. He is the brother of Carl (Doris) Wolff and Richard (June) Wolff, all of Binghamton, NY. George is the cherished grandfather of Jennifer, Lisa and Jeffrey Wells, Johann and Grenn Manss, Victoria and Jessica Magilton, Christine and Benjamin Wolff, Sarah and Daniel Dadmun and the late Sandra Magilton. He is the loving great-grandfather of Sierra and Jonathan Drake Nester, Adam Chase Taylor and Christopher Tristan Garris. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Friday morning at 11:00 at State Street Presbyterian Church, Schenectady. Calling hours will be Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Interment will be in Schenectady Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions would be appreciated to State Street Presbyterian Church, 3 Catherine St., Schenectady, NY 12307 in memory of George D. Wolff.
