Beaver, Georgette (Michaelson) DELMAR Georgette Michaelson Beaver, 90, passed peacefully Tuesday evening, December 11, 2018 surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Manhattan, Georgette was the daughter of the late Stephen Michaelson and Eugenia Vlahos Michaelson.
She was the loving mother of Kathy (Estelle) Bockis (Joseph), Sarah Beaver, Sheri Ciccone (Edward), Althea Shaver (Blaine), cherished grandmother of Melissa (Ernest), Jason, Erin (John), Scott (Chelsea), Karl (Gina) and Cassandra (Joseph) and great grandmother to Mason, Connor, Christopher, Lauren and Jordan.
She is survived by her brother Stanley and niece Allyce (Sam), grandniece Julia and grandnephew David and dear sister-in-law Joyce (Mickey), cousins and dear friends.
Georgette will be remembered for her infectious laugh, her spirit, determination, tenacity, kindness, generosity and friendship.
Georgette was the 1945 Salutatorian of the Ravena School District and attended Vassar College. She earned her Montessori Teaching Certification at the Association Montessori Internationale in London, England.
She served in the US Air Force as a Teletype Operator and Military Code Translator with Top Clearance for USAF Communications stationed at the Department of Defense at the Pentagon, where she was accepted to Officer's Candidate School.
Georgette was a trailblazer, who touched many lives. Her well accomplished, diverse career encompassed various professions including VIP Customer Relations Associate, Eastern Air Lines; Montessori Teacher; Administrative Director - Day Care Center, Columbia Greene Community College; Fund Raiser, Literacy Volunteers of America – Rensselaer County; Reporter and News Writer, Greene County News; Reporter and News Writer, Ravena News Herald; Editor, "The Magistrate" magazine; Editor, American Red Cross News Letter. Georgette retired from the Office of Counsel at the NYS Department of Education where she served as a Legislative Associate.

A private funeral service for the family will be held on December 20, 2018 in Albany where a mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. There will be no calling hours.
