Georgia M. Young

ALBANY - Georgia M. Young went to rest on Friday, June 3, 2011 at her residence surrounded by family and friends. She was the daughter of Sherman and Mae Dora Young.
Georgia was born and raised in Albany, and graduated from Phillip Schuyler High School. She was a social worker for Albany County DSS for over 20 years before retiring. Georgia enjoyed exercising, spending time with her family and friends as well as traveling.
Georgia was the loving mother of Aaron, Michael, and Tracey Gibson. She leaves behind her daughters-in-law Jade and Keisha; her grandchildren Jordan, Jenay, Danielle, and Aaron Jr; great granddaughter Jeniyah; siblings RC (Gloria), Ezeal (Mazel), Jeff (Marie), Betty, Diane (Irving) and Sandy, and goddaughter Stephanie Cummings. Denise and Rodney Young, her closest niece and nephew, will miss her dearly. A multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends will keep her in their hearts forever, especially her friend until the end, Jean Dobbs.
Georgia was predeceased by her siblings Larry, Alfred (Virginia), Roy, Nancy (Alflonzo), and Arlene (Kirk).
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery, Albany. Repast will be at 1314 Central Avenue, Albany.
