Georgina Lopez

SCHENECTADY – Georgina Lopez, 69, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 30, 2009 at Kingsway Arms Nursing Home.
Georgina was born on November 1, 1939 in Lares Puerto Rico and was the daughter of the late Jose and Augustina (Mercado) Lopez. She lived most of her life in Bronx, NY and was a homemaker and loved to provide daycare for many children. She loved cooking, music, dancing, children, and her favorite color was yellow.
Georgina is survived by her husband, Flor Hernandez; her children, Grisela (George) Pacheco, Migdalia (Gregory) Hicks, Sergio (Maritza) Plumey and Tania (John) Carkner; her grandchildren, Mary (Keith) Carpenter, Michael (Livia) Plumey, Dha'Sean Serrano, Christian Serrano, Natalie Anne Pacheco, Yasheka (Kyle) Nakamura, Jazmin Hicks and Justus Hicks; her great-grandchildren, Storie, Julian, Immanuel, Lianna and Javier; her sisters, Virginia and Rosa Lopez; her brothers, Santos, Monserate and Rafael Lopez and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Monday at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.). A calling hour will be held prior to the service from 11 a.m. to 12 noon at the funeral home. Interment, Memory's Garden in Colonie.
