Gerald A. Luciano "Butch", 70, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 4, 2012 at Evergreens Common Nursing Home. Jerry was born in Albany to the late Vincent Luciano and Antoinette Choppy Gonya. He was a very talented artist. Jerry created a float for the Albany Tri-centennial. The Albany Tulip festival was one of Jerry's many passions and he was the Friendly Dutchman for many years. Another passion was his love and admiration for Marilyn Monroe. He was an outstanding dancer and was wild about his family and friends.
Jerry is survived by his children Gerald A.(Trish) Luciano Jr. of North Carolina and Edward Luciano of Albany. He is the cherished grandfather of Christopher and Carrie Spine, Anthony Luciano and Victoria Luciano and beloved great grandfather of Mia and Stella Block. Jerry is the brother of Louis (Doris) Luciano, Albert Luciano, Holly (Gonya) Smith and Maria Gonya. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and close friends.
The family would like to thank Jerry's niece Terry for all of her care and compassion given to him. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society Memorial Processing Center 6725 Lyons St. PO Box 7 East Syracuse, NY 13057-0007 in Jerry's memory.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 am at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4 to 8 at the funeral home. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
