Gerald "Dusty" Batcher, 78, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 4, 2012 at Ellis Hospital with his family by his side. Dusty was born in Voorheesville to the late Howard and Charlotte Batcher. He was a country western singer, singing at several benefits and events around the Capital District. Dusty loved spending time with his family, taking many vacations and camping trips. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by five brothers and two sisters.
Dusty is survived by his loving wife of over 37 years, Diana Batcher; his 10 children; TJ, Denise, Johnny, Mike, Chester, Brian, Kellie, Bill, January and Kristy. He is the cherished grandfather of 32 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by 3 sisters; Fran Calhoun, Pat Sitcer, Shirley Batcher, 1 brother, Elvin Batcher and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Friends and family are invited to attend a celebration of Dusty's life on Saturday from 1 to 5 at the VFW Post Davies, 609 Draper Ave., Schenectady.
