Gerald J. Ingoglia, 68, passed away, Friday, November 28, 2014 with his family by his side. Born in Brooklyn, NY on March 10th, 1946, he was a resident of Rexford, NY. Gerald graduated from N.Y. High School of Printing Advertising Technology. He was also a graduate from the Fashion Institute of Technology in Manhattan. In 1966 he was drafted into the U.S. Army and held the rank of Captain. Gerald served in Vietnam with the First Calvary Division. While in Vietnam he received a Combat Infantry badge, Bronze Star, Air Metal and various foreign awards for service in Vietnam.
He worked for Sysco and other fortune five hundred companies in various positions. He was a member of the Hilderbrand Davis Post in Rotterdam. On October 28, 1993 he had a heart transplant at Brigham & Woman's Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. He was a member of St. Edward's Church in Clifton Park. Predeceased by his Father James Ingoglia, Mother Vera (Segreto) Ingoglia, Brothers Anthony Ingoglia and Robert Ingoglia. Survived by his loving wife Georgette (Turcotte) Ingoglia, Son Christopher Ingoglia and Daughter-in-law Kimberly, doting Grandfather to Courtney and Christian, Brother-in-law Mark and Paula Turcotte and Sister-in-law Rita Ingoglia and many nieces, nephews and cousins. The family would like to thank friends and relatives for all of their support over the years through Jerry's illness. Also many thanks to Dr. Paul Lamanski and Albany Medical Center Hospital.
Calling hours will be Monday, December 1st, 2014 from 10:00am – 12:00pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205. A service will follow the calling hours at the funeral home. Interment will be held at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery at 2pm.
