GUILDERLAND - Gerald E. Gamble, 83, of Guilderland, passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at Kingsway Arms Nursing Center in Schenectady.
Born in Saratoga Springs, Jerry was the son of the late Gordon and Helen (McIntyre) Gamble. He was a graduate of Argyle Central School. Jerry honorably served his country in the US Navy in communications during the Korean War.
Jerry was employed by NY Telephone Co. as a lineman and later as a supervisor for 35 years. During his lifetime, he was a volunteer fireman, a member of the Masonic Lodge, and an avid bowler. During his retirement, he enjoyed bird watching, hunting, fishing, and reading.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Carolyn (Fields) Gamble; his daughters, Lori Valentini and Amy (Bill) Proulx; three grandchildren, Michael (Julie) Colwell, Ryan and Nicole Proulx and one great grandson, Andrew Colwell. He was predeceased by his daughter, Cathy Gamble and his sister, Carol Nadeau.
Funeral service will be private at the request of the family. Interment will be at Park View Cemetery in Schenectady.
