Gerald A. Miller

Gerald A. Miller passed away May 13, 2021. He was born March 11, 1947 in Amsterdam, NY to Michael and Lucy (Adamkiewicz) Chmielewicz.

Jerry graduated from St Stanislaus Elementary School and St Mary's High School. He received his BA from Iona College and his MBA from SUNY Albany (the first MBA program SUNY Albany ever had!).

Over the years he had many nicknames- Income Coach, Professor, Manhattan, Mr Bryant and Stratton and most recently Grandpa Jerry.

Jerry was in the insurance business for over 30 years in sales, marketing and management. He taught the Property and Casualty Insurance License course for over 17 years, helping over 1,000 people enter the insurance business. He was very involved in sports as a coach, manager and division chairperson in Little League, Babe Ruth and Mickey Mantle for West Albany Athletic Association. Later he managed the Edward Zaloga Post American Legion Team.

Jerry is predeceased by his father, mother and his brother, Michael "Mickey" Miller.

He is survived by his daughter Suzanne Miller (Brian Carucci) of Rexford and his son Matthew Miller (Erin Michels) of Loudonville, his former wife and good friend Linda Miller, his sisters in law Nancy Miller of Amsterdam and Christa (Perry) Villanueva of Latham, 9 nieces and nephews, and three grandsons, Dante and Luciano Miller and Colden Carucci.

Calling hours will be held from 4-7pm on Wednesday, May 19 at New Comer Cremations and Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A memorial will be held on Thursday, May 20 at 10am in the funeral home with interment at St Stanislaus Cemetery in Amsterdam, NY at 11:30am. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Smile Train.
