Gerald O. Williams, 74, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at his home. Gerald was born in Albany to the late W. Stanley Williams and Charlotte Bader Williams. Gerald graduated from Albany High School and attended Siena College before he proudly served with the United States Navy and after worked for the State of New York. He had an interest in history and art and enjoyed spending time with his family in the Adirondacks. One of his great joys in life was playing pinochle with his aunts, brothers, cousins, nieces, and nephews. In addition to his parents, Gerald was predeceased by his brothers; John Herbert Williams and Donald Edward Williams.
Gerald is survived by his loving friend of over 48 years, Dianne McCormack; he is the brother of, Robert A. (Dorothy) Williams, W. Stanley Williams, Jr. and Richard Byrd (Frances) Williams; he is the uncle of Richard, Sheryl, Deborah, Robert and Jeffery Williams.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday from 4 to 7 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. Interment will be in Albany Rural Cemetery on Friday at 11am. Memorial contributions may be made to the Rubin Dialysis Center, 21 Crossings Blvd., Suite B, Clifton Park, NY 12065 in Gerald's memory.
