ALBANY, NY – Gerald W. Yauch, passed away suddenly at home on Monday, August 1, 2011. Born in Albany, he was the beloved son of Ina M. Yauch and the late Philip F. Yauch. Jerry lived in Albany for all of his life and worked for the New York State Library in Albany for about seventeen years. He was an avid football fan who enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his nieces and nephews. In addition to his mother, Jerry is the devoted brother of Joan (Leonard) Kotar of Rotterdam, Philip A. (Maureen) Yauch of Gray, ME, Susan (Dan) Elmendorf of Colonie, Jeffrey (Deborah) Yauch of Latham, Andrew (Cheryl) Yauch of Tarpon Springs, FL and the late Patricia Yauch. Jerry is the cherished uncle of Jeremy, Gina, Amanda, Amy and David and the great-uncle of Iain, Garrett, Jamie and Lily who is his loving goddaughter.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday at 11:30 a.m. at Mother Teresa Community Church, 66 Second Ave., Albany. Calling hours will be Sunday from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Interment will be in Our Lady Help of Christians Cemetery, Glenmont, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice in memory of Gerald W. Yauch.
