Geraldine H. Kot

CLIFTON PARK – Geraldine "Gerry" H. Kot, 77, passed away on Thursday, May 23rd, 2013. She was born on November 23, 1935, the daughter of the late Sophie and John Chmiel.

Gerry graduated from high school from St. Joseph's. She worked at Delaware and Hudson Railway, Hickory Farms, and retired from State Farm. Gerry enjoyed crafts and was exceptionally talented at crocheting and knitting. Computer games were also a hobby. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Gerry was predeceased by her beloved husband, John "Jim" Kot, son Jim Kot, and brother John Whitehouse.

She is the devoted mother of Christine Kot, Paul (Lisa J.) Kot, and Lynn (Ken) Brown; grandchildren Dustin (Aimee) Kot, Alyssa McManus, Travis and Carly Brown, and great-grandchildren Reilly and Lila Kot; all of whom she dearly loved.

The family wishes to thank Gerry's neighbors for all they have done for her. Also a thank you goes to Dr. Ira Zackon at N.Y.O.H. and the wonderful nurses and aides of the 6th floor at Ellis Hospital.

A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 9:30 am at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie. Memorial contributions may be made to South High Marathon Dance, a fundraising event contributing to many charities.
