Geraldine A. Lysiak

Geraldine A. Lysiak, 88, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2024.

Born on May 12th, 1936, in Albany, NY, Gerri was the beloved daughter of the late Gerald and Anna Loomis. She attended high school at St Ann’s Academy, fondly reminiscing about her time there. Gerri was employed by the NY State & Taxation Department, where she dedicated many years before retiring in 2001.

Gerri loved to travel, whether cruising the seas or lounging on the beach, particularly enjoying Long Sands in York, Maine with her family. She embraced every season – she took delight in creating winter village scenes under her tree, springtime flower planting in the yard, summer backyard gatherings with loved ones, and Halloween decorations and holiday baking. Above all, Gerri cherished her family and grandchildren, always present and enthusiastic at their events and games, cheering them on from the sidelines. Her vibrant spirit will be dearly missed but forever cherished through the countless memories she leaves behind.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, John “Bud” Lysiak; daughters, Deborah and Marianne; brother, Martin Loomis; stepchildren, John Lysiak, Jr. and Steven Lysiak.

Gerri is survived by her children, Barbara Harding, Richard Gould (Kerry), and Nicole Peters (Mark); grandchildren David, Ricky, Becky, Danny (Kayla), Alex, Lacey, and Max; great-grandson, Daniel; brother, Paul Loomis and God-daughter Tracy of Ravena. She is also survived by stepchildren, Sue Riccio (Don), Jeff Lysiak (Jodie), and numerous step-grandchildren. She leaves behind Bella, her beloved yorkiepoo and faithful companion until the end.

Calling hours will be held from 4PM to 7PM on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie.
