Gerda Wright

Gerda Wright "Oma", 78, wife of Bill Wright of Guilderland where they met and became high school sweethearts, passed away Friday, July 19th, 2024 at her home on Aaron Lane surrounded by friends and family.

Born October 16th, 1945 in Leipzig, Germany, she was the daughter of Franz Roll and Charlotta Gerstenberger and raised by Erich Thiele.

One of Mrs. Wright greatest accomplishments was giving birth to her oldest daughter Tracie while in high school and going back to earn her diploma while raising her. Gerda loved being a world traveler, and was known to make a new life long friend anywhere she went due to her unwavering kindness. She loved the simple things in life, such as riding on the back of the motorcycle, learning something new, her little critters visiting her around the property, and the pure joy she had conversing with loved ones.

She is survived by her husband Bill Wright, daughter Denise Wright, son Billy Wright, her seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, one brother and three sisters.

She was predeceased by her brother Peter, daughter Tracie and grandson Justin.
