GUILDERLAND, NY – Gertrude A. "Trudy" Brown, 91, passed away on Saturday, July 14, 2008 at the Albany County Nursing Home. She was born in Brooklyn, NY and resided for many years in Clarksville, before moving to Guilderland. She retired in 1973 from the New York State Dept. of Health where she worked as a lab assistant in the Griffin Lab. Trudy was predeceased by her husbands, Charles Snyder and Edward Brown, and her children, James and Barbara Ann Snyder. She is survived by her sisters, Mary Blair of New Jersey and Eleanor Mirabelli of Missouri; stepdaughters, Janet Uhlin of Florida and Evelyn Mowers of Catskill. She is the grandmother of Jannine (Mark) Audino, John (Susan) Samson, Jennifer (Joe) Lain, Jeff (Luh) Samson, Jose (Kate) Samson and George Mowers. Also surviving are many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and Trudy's special friends, Nina Martino and Karen Prancl. The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of Shaker Place at Albany County Nursing Home and Community Hospice of Albany for all of the kindness and care given to Trudy.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at Christ the King Church, Guilderland. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Interment will be in Onesquethaw Cemetery, Clarksville.
