Gertrude Cionek, 88, passed away in Schenectady, June 20th, 2023 just one week after her 88th birthday.
Gert was born in Kingsbury, NY where she was one of 13 children in the family. She married Edward Cionek in 1972. Gert worked at Union College for many years before her retirement. She was known for her love of cats and spunky attitude.
In addition to her parents, Charles and Jennie McCotter, she was predeceased by her husband of 41 years, Ed and 11 siblings. She is survived by her two daughters Linda Wescott and Deborah (Joseph) Apruzzese, five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and her sister Elsie.
A visitation will be held on Monday June 26th from 10am-11am at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd, Colonie NY 12205.
