Gertrude Dollard

GUILDERLAND-Gertrude A. Dollard, 78, of Guilderland passed away on Friday, July 5, 2013 at Albany Medical Center Hospital following injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Mrs. Dollard was born in Delhi, NY the daughter of the late Nelson and Frances (Blish) Thompson. She grew up in the Catskills on a farm and attended the Hamilton School of Business. Mrs. Dollard was employed as a paralegal for Helm, Shapiro and Ayers Law Firm until an automobile accident in 1984 prevented her from returning to work. She and her husband William enjoyed spending the winters in Palmetto, Florida for the past 23 years. Besides spending time with her family, she enjoyed knitting, gardening and needlecraft.
Mrs. Dollard is survived by her beloved husband of 50 years William R. Dollard, Sr. of Guilderland; her loving children Eileen F. Dollard of Granville, William R. Dollard, Jr. (Maria Susko) of Wynantskill, Martin P. Dollard (Robyn Burke) of E. Greenbush, and Brian T. Dollard (Cynthia Balthazar) of Guilderland; her grandchildren Daniel "DJ", Matthew, Nicole and Anthony Bernard, Kendall Dollard, Adam and Evan Dollard and Meghan, Kyle and Timothy Dollard.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Dollard was predeceased by her sister Barbara Dillon.
Calling hours will be held from 3 to7 PM on Sunday, July 14, 2013 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, July 15, 2013 at St. Madeleine Sophie Church, Carman Rd. Schenectady.
Interment will be at Memory Gardens, Colonie.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Double H Ranch, Lake Luzerne, NY in memory of Mrs. Dollard.
