Gertrude Mcconnelee

Colonie- Gertrude C. McConnelee, 79, of Colonie, entered into eternal rest on Sunday February 12, 2006 at Our Lady of Mercy Life Center after a brief illness. She was born in Albany and was the daughter of the late William and Laura Helmes Lenhardt.
Gert was the beloved wife of fifty four years to the late John D. McConnelee. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. Gert was a longtime active member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church. For the past seventeen years, she was the President of Lisha Kill Seniors and in 2000 was recognized by the Town of Colonie with the Mildred Best Willey Volunteer of the Year award. Gert enjoyed crafts, sewing, traveling, camping and bowling.
She is the beloved mother of Bruce W. (Patricia) McConnelee, of Scotia, John D. (Andrea) McConnelee of Glenville, Paul A. (Diane) McConnelee of Rotterdam and Larry J. ( Ruth) McConnelee of Camillus. She is the sister of the late Dorothy, William and Earl Lenhardt. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Thursday morning at 11:00 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Colonie. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4 to 8 pm at NewComer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Interment will be in Memorys Garden. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Saviors Lutheran Church, 63 Mountainview Ave Albany NY 12205 in memory of Gertrude C. McConnelee.
