Gertrude Windom

ALBANY – Gertrude Windom, 72, entered into eternal rest on Friday, March 06, 2009 at Albany Memorial Hospital, after suffering from a long term illness. She was loved by many and will be missed very much. Gertrude is survived by her beloved mother, Mabel Boyd of Lancaster, SC; her brothers, Richard Boyd of Mt. Vernon, NY, Robert Boyd and Belton Boyd both of Lancaster, SC and Theophus Boyd of Albany, NY; her sisters, Emma Jane Stroman and Rebecca Crocket both of Lancaster, SC; her nine children, Charles Jones and Jesse Boyd both of Lancaster, SC, Bobby Boyd, John Boyd, Morris Windom, Jr., Patricia Windom, Vanessa Williams, Anthony Windom and Carol Perelez all of Albany. Also surviving is a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Morris Windom, Sr. and her sister, Hester Boyd.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 12:00 p.m. at Wilborn Temple First C.O.G.I.C., 121 Jay Street, Albany. A calling hour will precede the service from 11:00 to 12:00 at the church. Interment will follow in Graceland Cemetery, Albany.
