Gina Cavone

GUILDERLAND- Gina Cavone 89, formerly of Albany, joined her husband Quirino in eternal life on December 16, 2006. Born in Carpineto Romano, Italy on September 23, 1917, Gina was the daughter of the late Paolo and Angela Gessini Cipriani. She had worked for New York State and New York Telephone Company. Gina was a resident of Albany for over 25years and was communicant of St. James Church and St. Madeline Sophie Church.
She was very kind, generous and had a great sense of humor. Gina loved life and lived it to it's fullest. Most of all, Gina loved her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Gina is survived by her daughters, Maria Pia (Joe) Silvestri of Guilderland, Mary (Peter) Riley of Colonie and Paula (John) Raiti of East Berne; grandmother of Diane (Steven) Wade; Peter, Jennifer and Kristen Riley; John, Rachel and LCpl Geoffrey Raiti, USMC;
Great grandmother of Ava and Nathan Wade. She is the sister in law of Antonia (Orlando) Raponi and Guido (Maria) Cavone. Gina is the sister of the late Tomasso and Umberto Cipriani. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Wednesday morning at 9:15 at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave) then to St. Madeline Sophie Church at 10:00 where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.
Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4 to 8 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont.
