Ginger Melissa Hines, affectionately known as Auntie Nashia, was born on September 2, 1967, in Forest City, North Carolina; to the late LauRann "Toby" Hines and Jimmy Black.
Ginger was a staple within her community. She naturally commanded everyone's attention with her distinct and roaring voice. As the voice of the neighborhood, you can casually see her taking walks to the store, waving to every car that drives by, and talking with favorite neighbors.
She enjoyed swimming, building positive relationships with children, watching 90s cartoons, and feeding the animals, especially birds. She took pride in upkeep of the neighborhood; you could traditionally find her sweeping and singing her favorite melodies in front of her house.
As an avid reader and mathematician, with a passion for education, Ginger was a longtime childcare provider. In her words, "I raised everybody!" She loved assisting with the growth and development of the youth. She was a walking dictionary. As a mother to her son Jalon, she always ensured he understood and valued the love she had for him. With the language she created throughout the years, she spoke into his heart to remind him of the deeper meaning and appreciation for life.
