COLONIE- Giova T. Cioffi, 84, passed away peacefully at St. Peter's Hospice on February 8, 2021.
She was born in San Pedro, California on October 21, 1936 to the late Carlo and Mary Cioffi.
She was a 1956 graduate of Catholic Central High School. She also graduated from Siena College in 1973 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree, which she accomplished by going to night classes. She worked for New York Telephone Company for 35 years, became a supervisor and worked in New York city at the end of her career. She traveled to many countries, Italy, England & Ireland. She was so much fun, very colorful and humorous and everyone's favorite Aunt. She loved taking care of her townhouse, always enjoying the beautiful flowers she planted. She liked to crochet, making hundreds of children's hats and donated them to Unity House, Troy, NY.
She was a wonderful sister to all her siblings, and took great care to help our family. She will be greatly missed.
Giova is predeceased by her brothers, Joseph Cioffi & Volcano Cioffi, and sisters, Martha Cioffi & Gloria Flanagan, brother-in-law, Joseph Flanagan, and her niece Gail Acker.
Giova is survived by her brother, Carl Cioffi (Martha) and sister, Elizabeth Barber (Donald), sister-in-law, Joyce Cioffi, and also many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
We would like to extend our gratitude to Peregrine Memory Care for all their kindness and care of our sister, for the past three years.
Also a special thank you to the nurses on the third floor and Hospice Inn for being so kind and caring with our sister, we could not have asked for a more loving and compassionate group of nurses, & doctors.
