Schenectady – Gladys Czajkowski, 75, died suddenly Tuesday February 9, 2010 in Phoenix, Arizona while visiting with family.
Gladys was born in Henderson, NY the daughter of the late Harold and Monica Vincent and resided in Rotterdam for most of her life. She was a loving mother and devoted wife of her late husband Edward whom predeceased her in 1978. She was a long time communicant and Eucharistic minister of St. Paul the Apostle Church. She loved to crochet, having made many scarves and baby blankets that her friends and family will treasure always. Above all, Gladys was a gentle, caring, warm hearted loving mother and grandmother who spent the summers with her children, in their youth, on Lake Ontario at the family camp. She had a great circle of friends that she loved dearly and always looked forward to spending time with them.
She is survived by her children: Ed Czajkowski, Michael (Kathy) Czajkowski, Debbie (Don) Redner-Miller, Paul Czajkowski and David (Cara) Czajkowski, grandchildren: Eddie, Matt, Katrina, Jessica, Danielle, Paul, Zachery, Destiny, David, Lisa and Tessa, great-grandchildren: Antonio and Cameron, siblings: Haroldeen, Elaine, Patricia, Berley, John, James and Paula and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her brothers Allen and Paul.
Funeral services will be held Saturday 8:00am from New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie, then to St. Paul the Apostle Church, Schenectady, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00am. Calling hours will be Friday 4:00 to 8:00pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Schenectady.
