ALBANY, NY – Gladys E. Knorr, 88, passed away on Friday, November 7, 2008 at The Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
Gladys was born on October 18, 1920 in Manhattan and was the daughter of the late O'Tillie and William Nieman. She worked as a sales clerk for Denby's in Colonie Center for many years before retiring in 1980. Prior to that she worked for John G. Myers in Albany. She loved gardening, cooking and doing things for her family.
Gladys is survived by her loving children, Marcia F. Knorr of Albany and William J. (Maureen) Knorr, Esq. of Peterboro, NH; her cherished granddaughter, Michelle E. (Tony H.) Perretta of Colonie; her cherished great-grandchildren, Daniel and Crystal; her brother, Roger (Jackie) Nieman of Lady Lake, Fla.; her sisters-in-law, Doris Nieman of Colonie and Shirley Nieman of Booth Bay, ME and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Edwin D. Knorr and her brothers, William, John and Edgar Nieman.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 Monday at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.). A calling hour will be held prior to the service from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Entombment will be held at Memory's Garden in Colonie.
