ALBANY -Gladys Gause, 78, was called home on March 20, 2012. Gladys was born December 8, 1933 to Abraham and Addie Graves. She was born in Marion, S.C. and educated in the Marion County school system.
Gladys and her husband Roland moved to Albany more than 50 years ago. Gladys, affectionately known to many as "Aunt Gladys" and "Grandma", was the gatekeeper of Orange Street. She loved her neighborhood and didn't mind telling anyone to keep her side walk clean! She loved bingo. Those who knew Gladys certainly are witness to the fact that she did not have problem telling you what was on her mind in a caring way. Gladys loved to share the news of the day and kept everyone informed of the latest "happenings". Most of all, she loved her family and her friends.
Gladys was predeceased by her son, Cecil Graves; sisters), Mayzell Moody and Thomasina Woods, Elretta Robinson, and brothers Bishop and Aaron Graves.
Gladys leaves to cherish her memory her wonderful husband of fifty plus years, Roland Gause, Jr.; sons Chuck Graves (Cynthia), James Graves(Ula)and Ronald Gause. Four daughters: Deborah Connor, Addie Gause, Alice Miller and Charline Johnson; 16 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; brothers Elder Willow Graves , Donnie Graves, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. She will be missed.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 12:00 pm at Christian Memorial COGIC, 381 Sheridan Avenue, Albany. Calling hours will precede the service from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the church. Interment will be in Albany Rural Cemetery, Menands.
